Daniel Thomas Doran Fitzpatrick
Born 21st December 1996 - Died 5th November 2006. Aged 9 years, 10 months and 15 days. Lived in Crumlin and Tallaght, Dublin, Ireland
Oldest child of Anthony Fitzpatrick and Andrea Doran. Big brother to sister Alex and younger brother Ben. Dan's funeral was on Tuesday 7th November. His uncle Mark sang his favourite Greenday song (Wake me up when September ends) and his 7 aunties all walked the white coffin out to his current favourite track "America" by Razorlight. It was only then that we noticed the crowd. The church was filled to capacity and the crowd spilled out into the carpark staying for a mass they couldn't hear in the pouring rain. The cortege had a police bike accompanying it. Dan would have loved it as he would have felt like a big star. We laid him to rest as the Sun peeped through the clouds. I felt that Dan was telling us that he was watching us all. We all then had to start building a life without our shining light. Now he is the brightest star in our sky at night - no matter where we are in the world he is with us always - shining bright
